The Annamalai University conducts Medical Entrance Examination Every year for admission towards various Undergraduate Medical Courses into its Medicine department, The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital.
The University offers Under Graduate course in medicine leading to MBBS, B.P.T. Programme. The programmes are recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI).
MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme of Annamalai University is recognised by Medical Council of India. The duration of the course is 5 ½ years including internship.
B.P.T. – Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme of Annamalai University is 4 ½ years duration including six months internship. The course trains the students to be a professional physiotherapist.

M.B.B.S. Programme:
Eligibility criteria for taking admission into M.B.B.S. – Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery programme of Annamalai University (The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital) is given below :
Age: A candidate must be of 17 years of age as on 31st December on the year of entrance examination.
Educational Qualification: Any Candidate who has passed in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of Tamil Nadu with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and English or an equivalent examination with
1. A minimum of 60% of marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology.
2. A minimum of 60% of marks in each of the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.
3. Aggregate marks of (a) and (b) to be not less than 140 out of 200 marks in Science subjects.
For Backward Classes:
The minimum in the individual subjects is same as for general category i.e. 60%. Aggregate of marks should not be less than 130 out of 200. For Most Backward Classes, the minimum marks in individual subject is 55% and the aggregate of marks should be not less than 120 out of 200.
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category candidates are eligible to appear in the entrance test if they have secured 40% of aggregate marks in Science subjects and have passed the qualifying examination.
NRI/Foreign National with the minimum qualification as per MCI norms are eligible.

Eligibility criteria for admission into BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) programme of Annamalai University (The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital) is given below:
Age: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on month of December of the year of examination.
Educational Qualification: A pass in the Higher Secondary examination (10+2 course) of Tamil Nadu state board or any equivalent examination accepted by Annamalai University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/Zoology) and English.

The Annamalai University conducts Medical Entrance Examination Every year for admission towards various PG degree / PG diploma courses into its Medicine department, The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital.
The University offers Post Graduate programme in medicine leading to M.D. / M.S. (Doctor of Medicine / Master of Surgery) or Diploma in 18 different disciplines. The programmes are recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI). MD/MS programme is of three years duration and post graduate diploma programme is of two years duration.
M.P.T. – Master of Physiotherapy programme of Annamalai University is of two years duration (non – semester pattern)
Eligibility Criteria:
For M.D. / M.S. (Doctor of Medicine / Master of Surgery) or Diploma in 18 different disciplines
Candidates should be citizens of India and have permanent Medical Registration Certificate.
Candidate must posses MBBS (Bachelor pf Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) degree from a recognised university/board, recognised by Medical Council of India.
Only those arte eligible to appear in the entrance exam who have completed the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship on or before 31st March of the year of entrance examination.
For M.P.T. Programme
B.P.T. degree of Annamalai University OR degree of any university equivalent to degree of Annamalai University.

Method of Selection:
For M.D./M.S./Diploma Programmes the qualifying marks are calculated as300 (aggregate Percentage of marks obtained in I,II and III M.B.B.S. Examinations). These marks are added to the marks secured in the Entrance Examinations out of 100 and the Interview marks out of 45.
Ranking and selection is made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained out of 445.

Entrance examination is common for both PG degree (MD/MS) and PG diploma programme. Entrance examination is of under-graduate level covering all subjects taught and contain 200 objective type questions with four responses (A,B,C,D) in English Medium. Each question will carry 0.5 mark. More than one answer indicated or illegible entry against a question is deemed as incorrect response.

All candidates desirous to take admission in different medical programmes of Annamalai University (The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital) are need to appear for interview at Annamalainagar. NRIs / Foreign Nationals are exempted.
Selection of candidates for different degree programmes is made on the basis of Entrance Examination, Interview and performance in the qualifying examination.
he marks in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination reduced to 200 and added to the marks obtained out of 100 in the Entrance Examination.
In addition, the marks obtained in the Interview out of 30 are also added. The final ranking and selection is made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained out of 330.
Interview:
Interview is held for all those candidates who have found eligible for granting admission in PG degree or PG diploma course of Annamalai University. Final admission is made on the basis of qualifying examination, entrance test and interview. The center of interview is Annamalainagar.

The Annamalai University conducts Medical Entrance Examination Every year for admission towards various Nursing Programme courses into its Medicine department, The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital.
The University offers Nursing course in medicine leading to B.Sc. Nursing Programme, M.Sc. Nursing Programme. The programmes are recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI).
B.Sc. – Bachelor of Science (Nursing Programme) awarded by Annamalai University is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and permanent recognition for the Programme has been granted by the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council, Chennai. The duration of the course is 4 ½ years including 6 months internship training.
M.Sc. – Master of Science (Nursing) programme of Annamalai University is of two years duration. Programme is available in the following disciplines;
(a) Medical Surgical Nursing,
(b) Child Health Nursing,
(c) Maternity Nursing,
(d) Community Health Nursing.
Eligibility :
B.Sc. Nursing Programme:
Age : Candidate must have completed 17 years and must not have completed 21 years of age on the month of December of the year of examination. Only unmarried female candidates can apply.
Educational Qualification : Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of Tamil Nadu state board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English or an equivalent examination.
Reservation : Few seats are reserved for the candidates who have proved them in sports and for the nominees of of those who have notably contributed to the development of Muthamizh (Iyal, Isai and Nadagam).
M.Sc. (Nursing) Programme:
1. Candidates must have Passed the B.Sc. Degree in Nursing of Annamalai University or any other University, equivalent equivalent to Annamalai University.
2. Basic B.Sc. Nursing graduates should have two years of Teaching experience in a Teaching hospital or in a College or in a School of Nursing or in Community Health Programme after graduation.
However, this condition shall not apply to Post certificate B.Sc. Nursing graduates for admission to the M.Sc. Nursing Programme. Post certificate B.Sc. Nursing graduates may be admitted to M.Sc. Nursing soon after the graduation in any branch of study.
3. The candidate seeking admission into Maternity Nursing and Community Health Nursing shall be a Registered Nurse and a Registered Midwife whereas for the other specialities, the candidate shall be a Registered Nurse.
Important Note: All candidates are required to appear for Entrance Examination and interview on the same day or the day following the entrance examination, at Annamalainagar, at their own expenses.
