ELIGIBILITY:

Those who complete their Compulsory Rotating Residential internship by 30th April 2011 are eligible to apply for the entrance examination for MD/MS& PG Diploma Courses
For MD/MS clinical subjects, only those candidates who have not crossed the age of 30 years as on 31st December 2011 are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard / school leaving certificate will be taken as authentic. Age relaxation will be considered for candidates with higher qualification in the concerned subject.
For MD/MS non clinical and all diploma courses,age limit not applicable.
A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized Medical College included in the Schedules to the Indian Medical council Act, 1956 and has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the state Medical Council after completing compulsory Rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination
Candidates who are undergoing 12-month compulsory rotating internship /practical training after passing the final qualifying examination and are likely to complete the same on or before 31st March 2011 can take up this examination, provided they can produce the full registration from the MCI or any State Medical Council within one month from the date of admission.
Failure to produce the Registration certificate as above may lead to cancellation of admission and in such an event the candidate will be responsible to pay the Institution all the losses the Institution may suffer on account of such cancellation.

DURATION OF THE COURSE - Two Academic years.

ELIGIBILITY:

A Candidate must have :
(i) Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board/University. Those who have done 10+1 on or before 1986 will also be eligible to apply.
(ii) Obtained a Certificate in General Nursing and midwifery and be an 'A' Grade nurse, registered with State Nurses Registration Counicl. In case of male nurse, he should have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and, instead of training in Midwifery, tarining in any tow subjects out of the following: (a)Venereal Disease Nursing, (b) Tuberculosis Nursing, (c)Ophthaimic Nursing, (d)Psychiatry Nursing, (e)Operation Theatre Techniques for a period of three montsh in each. He should be an 'A' Grade nurse registered with the State Nurses Registration Council.
(iii) Worked for a minimum period of three years as a staff nurse in recognised hospital or as a Public Health Nurse, after obtaining the above mentioned certificates.



METHOD OF SELECTION

a) Competitive Entrance Examination;
The candidates will be required to appear at the competitive entrance examination on Sunday, the 14th May, 2000 followed by the Personal Assessment/Interview on 16th May, 2000.

The Examination will be held at Delhi only.

The competitive entrance examination will be of 90 minutes duration and will have one paper containing objective type (multiple choice) questions in the subjects of Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing including Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Obstetric Nursing and Midwifery, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.
b) past academic performance
All the eligible candidates will be assigned marks based on the following:

- Past academic attainment in the Higher Secondary or Senior Cambridge or Intermediate or an
equivalent examination.

- Past academic attainment in the Nursing examination:

- Performance as a staff Nurse.


The performance of marks secured by the candidates in the above or higher examination shall be taken into consideration and marks up to a maxumum of 10 shall be assigned for his/her performace as a Staff Nurse etc.

c)Personal Assessment
On the basis of the merit list based on (a) & (b) above, candidates three times the number of seats advertised will be invited to A.I.I.M.S. for personal assessment by s Selection Committee. If requisite number of Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes are not available for personal assessment, then the number of candiates from general category will be proportionately increased.

The personal assessment of candidates by the Selection Committee will include evaluation of candidate's past academic record; his/her performance as a Staff Nurse and the performance at the interiview. On the basis of the assessment by the Selection Committee, candidates will be assessed and a merit list will be drawn-up. If requisite number of suitable candidates are not available to fill seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes, the unfilled seats will be filled by candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and vice versa. In case suitable candidates are not available from the two reserved categories, the vacant seats will be filled by candidates form the General category, The offer of admission to candidates who fail to join by the date stipulated in the admission letter, shall stand automatically cancelled, and such seats will be offered to the candidates on the waiting list in the order of merit.

Selected candidates will be required to produce the original certificates/testimonials/documents as specified under 'Instruction for filling up the application form' at the time of admission.



REQUIRMENTS FOR ADMISSION OF SPONSORED CANDIDATES:

1. The candidates who are permanent employees of any Central/State Government or the Armed Forces can besponsored by the repective Central/State Government or the Defence Authority.
2. The sponsorship certificate should be completed in the application form duly signed by the appointing authority.
3. No seat is reserved for sponsored candidates




REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION OR FOREIGN NATIONALS:

One seat over and above the sanctioned number of seats as specified in the prospectus at page 1, is available for foreign national candidates. The eligibility criteria for foreign students will be the same as for the Indian students as specified in the prospectus. However, the admission will be made on the basis of marks/grade secured by them. The foreign notional candidates are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Examination conducted for admission to the said course.

The foreign national candidates are required to fill in the application form prescribed by the Institute for this purpose. The application form routed through the diplomatic channels must reach the Institute within the pescribed time period. Applications received directly will not be entertained.


NOTE: NO HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO FOREIGN STUDENTS. THEY WILL HAVE TO MAKE THEIR OWN ARRANGEMENTS FOR STAY DURING THE COURSE OF STUDY IN THE INSTITUTE.



STIPEND;


Selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs.500/- p.m. depending upon the acailablility of funds. Such candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Institute for a minimum period of one year after the completion of the course if asked to do so.

For the grant of the stipend, the decision of the Dean/Director shall be final and binding.

Veterinary Council of India is a statuary body established under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. Since its setting up, the Council has been getting up 100% grants-in-aid from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India under a Plan Scheme i.e. "Professional Efficiency Development" for undertaking the activities of the Council.

The council conducts an All India Entrance Examination for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course for filling up 15% of total number of seats on Merit in each Veterinary College of India.

The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) degree course is five years including six months compulsory rotating internship.



Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for for All India Common Entrance Examination (AICEEE) and All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) Exams is given below:

Age Limit: Minimum age of a candidate should be 17 years on the month of December of the year of examination.


Educational Qualification:

(i) A candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10 2 Higher Secondary Examination (after a period of 12 years of study) the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training or equivalent qualification as prescribed in the Veterinary Council of India - Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education –Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H) Regulations, 1993

OR

Candidates who have passed the B.Sc. examination from a recognised University with not less than two of the following subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany/ Zoology), and has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

(ii) To be eligible for appearing in entrance examination, the candidates must have passed the qualifying Examination obtaining not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. In respect of candidates belonging to the SC/ST or other special category of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required at the qualifying examination shall be 10% less than that prescribed for general category.

(iii) A candidate who is taking up the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. &A.H. Programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as prescribed at 3(ii) above, on or before 30th June of the year of examination and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.



Courses Offered:
Veterinary Council of India invites applications for entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir State) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course for academic session .


Eligibility:
An applicant is eligible for admission to the AIPVT if the following criteria are met with: -

Nationality : He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs.--- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/ First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that: - They are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seekadmission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and they are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.

Note : Applications not accompanied with the required Affidavit shall be rejected without any further reference in this matter. Such Affidavits submitted by thecandidates shall be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and legal proceedings initiated against them.



Essential Qualification:
passed The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two year of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. OR .

The intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/ Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Minimum marks:
To be eligible for AIPVT candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 / intermediate ScienceExamination. Provided also that to be eligible for AIPVT the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually. For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/ the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required foradmission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

Note : A candidate who is taking the qualifying examination prior to the AIPVT, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as per the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2008 on or before 30th June, 2011 and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.

In pursuance of the Hon'ble Supreme Court order dated 10.4.2008 and according to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development vide O.M.NO. 1-1/2005-UlA/847 dated 20.4.2008 it has been decided to implement OBC reservation in respect of seats being contributed to the All India Quota by the Central Education Institutions only.

Age : He/She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2011. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2012 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.

Veterinary Council of India invites applications for entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir State) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course for academic session 2011-2012.
Eligibility
An applicant is eligible for admission to the AIPVT if the following criteria are met with: -

Nationality : He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/ First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that: - They are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and they are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.

Note : Applications not accompanied with the required Affidavit shall be rejected without any further reference in this matter. Such Affidavits submitted by the candidates shall be verified and if found to be false, the admission of all such candidates shall be cancelled and legal proceedings initiated against them.

Essential Qualification: He/She has passed :-

The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two year of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. OR .

The intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/ Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Minimum marks: To be eligible for AIPVT candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above. Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 / intermediate Science Examination. Provided also that to be eligible for AIPVT the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually. For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/ the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

Note : • A candidate who is taking the qualifying examination prior to the AIPVT, or whose result is awaited, may also apply and take the examination but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as per the Minimum Standard of Veterinary Education Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2008 on or before 30th June, 2011 and submit the documentary proof during counseling, if selected.

In pursuance of the Hon'ble Supreme Court order dated 10.4.2008 and according to the instructions issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development vide O.M.NO. 1-1/2005-UlA/847 dated 20.4.2008 it has been decided to implement OBC reservation in respect of seats being contributed to the All India Quota by the Central Education Institutions only.

Age : He/She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December, 2011. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2012 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.

The Information Bulletin & Application Form can be obtained by Post on payment of Rs.850/- for General Category / OBC and Rs.450/- for SC / ST category (including examination fee, processing and other charges) through a demand draft drawn in favour of “Veterinary Council of India- Examination Fund” payable at New Delhi at any scheduled Bank from the office of Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India, A Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi – 110 066. While requesting Information Bulletin and Application From, the candidates should send: -

(i) Demand Draft (Cash / Money order/Indian Postal Order / Cheque or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted. Demand Draft issued prior to the date of advertisement will not be accepted).

(ii) Two plain paper slips with name and complete address (in CAPITAL LETTERS) with PIN-code.
