WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN ? The Indian Power Sector is growing very fast. According to the Report of the Sub Group on Manpower Planning, expected manpower requirement in the Power Sector during XIth Plan would be around 2.30 lakhs. AS per the Indian Electricity Act 2003 have paved the way for Private Power Sector participation in Operation and maintenance of Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution System. This course is of 26 Weeks duration for those who desire to make a career in the power Sector.
On successful completion of this course the Graduate Engineers will find good job opportunities and preference in employment with various power companies.

The aim of the course is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the Indian Power Sector in the area of Operation and Maintenance of Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution Systems.



About the course :

This is a unique course of 26 weeks duration being conducted in the country by NPTI only. The course covers training on Operation & Maintenance of Power Transmission & Distribution System.

The course syllabus is Approved by Central Electricity Authority (CEA ), Government of INDIA under Indian electricity rules 1956 (2B) rule 3.


Eligibility : Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering & Electrical Power.


Age : Maximum 27 yrs. as on Notification Date.


Selection Criteria : Percentage of marks obtained in B.E. or equivalent examination. (Preferably first class in X, XII & B.E.)


Total Seats : 50 (Fifty). Reservation for SC/ST,OBC as per Govt.of India norms. 25% seats reserved for sponsored candidates. In case of non-availability of sponsored candidates, seats will be available for non-sponsered candidates.
